Credit Card Support
iChapter Network supports professional web-based credit card
services as an option to the on-line reservation process. These
credit card services would replace any off-line (terminal based)
credit card swipe process you might use today. All web-based
credit card merchants provide a manual process for processing
credit cards call a Virtual Terminal. Web-based credit card
transactions have a few specific requirements and are required to
procesds credit cards in a secure and protected manner.
- Must be transacted from a Secure Socket Layer (SSL)
folder on your server
- Must have a dedicated or shared SSL Certificate
- In some cases, must have the proper software installed on
the server for credit card transaction processing (this
is both iChapter Network software and the credit card
gateway software).
On-line credit card processing requires features that are
supported at no additional cost by some hosting services or can
carry additional monthly fees. It all depends on your hosting
service agreement.
Over the years, iChapter has worked with many chapters and has
in-turn developed software to support a number of credit card
gateways. As long as the currently supported gateways are used,
there is no additional cost for setting up credit card from an
iChapter costs perspective (there are setup costs charged by the
credit card merchants though).
The following gateways currently supported by iChapter Network
are:
- SecurePay
(used by most APICS chapters using iChapter) Visit
WMS Merchant Services for more information.
- Verisign
- Sage Payment Solutions
Note: Credit card information such as card
number and expiration date are not stored and cannot be stored by
iChapter Network. We only store the transaction number (generated
by iChapter), card type and approval number of the transaction provided by the
gateway.
